Electrical Periodic Reports
Periodic reports are necessary because all electrical installations deteriorate over a time by wear, corrosion, overloading, age and enviromental influences.Consequently: legislation requires that electrical installations are maintained in a safe condition and therfore must be periodically inspected and tested. also periodic inspection and testing should be considered to assess compliance with BS 7671 Electrical regulations, a change of occupancy of the premises or a change of use of the premises. Note: The above is an excerpt from Guidance note 3: Inspection & Testing by the institution of Engineering and Technology. The condition of an installation is assessed by isolating and testing circuits, with the results logged onto a report. We offer full periodic inspection services to domestic and commercial premises. The Guidance note 3 also makes note that due to the size and complexity of an installation in a larger building, isolation becomes more difficult particularly where continuation of supply is important such as in hospitals, banks etc In order to confirm the continuing suitability of use of such installations they must be subjected to planned preventive maintenance or regular periodic assessment of their condition. With themal imaging it is possible to carry out a thorough visual inspection of such installations without subjecting the inspector or others in the building to any danger and such an inspection may identify many common defects caused by use/abuse.See Thermal Imaging section for examples of effectiveness of periodic sthermal surveys Examples of Thermal image surveys Keep it safe by calling Keep it safe Ltd 0800 0932633
